ABOUT TINA DAUGHERTY

Tina Daugherty

Broker/Owner

Having lived in the Thompson Falls, Montana area since I was two years old, it seems like everyone is old friend. Our hidden secret, the greatest treasure of the area, is the people. What a refreshing change, having tried some city living, to come home to a place where everyone waves and would do anything to help you just out of the kindness of their hearts. Yes, we have gorgeous scenery and wide open spaces, but that is not the greatest asset of this mountain valley. It is definitely the people.

We built the first web site in Sanders County many moons ago, when the internet was still new. . . what a hoot! And it is always a balance to honor the area and grow a business. With the influx after 2019-2021 things are changing a little. We embrace technology, as a licensed UAV (drone) pilot and photographer. The stunning scenery is quite beautiful, even if a lens will never do it justice.

Raised by hard-working, resourceful individuals, Gail Enger, of Napa then getting into real estate and Tom Morkert, a jet mechanic in Vietnam and then head sawyer at the sawmill. Tom and Gail built in their spare time and remodeled, between the two of them, they could and did do just about everything from plumbing and wiring to drywall. The benefits of being raised by such resourceful and talented people is a blessing!

Selling real estate here is an honor and has been since I dropped out of college at 19 with great grades and scholarships, having last gone back for biochemical engineering. Growing up playing in the mountains leaves one longing for the great outdoors, for stream-side recreation, running through the National Forest on a county road, biking logging roads, rock climbing in the wilderness, hiking to mountain lakes and skiing the peaks. Since I was 19, 31 years ago, I have been selling real estate. Looking back, it amazes me that my incredible clients hired me at that young age, but they did and some of those beautiful souls are still calling to resell their homes reluctantly, not wanting to leave but for health or family calling. Those are the two reasons for leaving this valley predominantly.

There was a brief stint of about 5 years that I sold in the winters in the Palm Springs area of California, working on golf course and architectural homes, which was great fun. This was an incredible education in architectural photography, marketing as a President’s Circle Coldwell Banker Previews Agent, and all things luxury. Meeting some incredible agents and seeing some spectacular architecture was mind-expanding! This brought many new ideas to our Montana work, including ideas for building, another adventure I love.

Traveling the world for a distributed audio business was also a great learning adventure. Working with distributors worldwide and attending trade shows was another great learning experience in marketing and sales. This was a whirlwind and gave me more tools for the ever changing world of real estate. It was still construction and home related, but on a different level. The love of music and technology blended with construction was very exciting. Playing a little piano for the Clark Fork Baptist Church is now the activity that that love of music is channeled in to for my blessing of a church family.

I love people, love the land and most things real estate. I love to serve and am happy to take the time to understand your goals and desires, trying to educate you along the way about what you don’t know that you don’t know, getting expert advice as needed from the professionals that specialize in that part of the business. Having been involved in building several homes and coming from a building family, there are so many details that you don’t really see or understand the value until you have been involved in that process.
